Introduction

Welcome to discuse.com. By accessing our website and using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website.

Data Processing and Privacy

  • We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This includes data required for account creation, service provision, and improvement of our services.
  • We employ standard data protection and security measures to ensure the safety of your personal information.
  • Discuse users are responsible for the content they upload to our website. We do not monitor or moderate user-generated content.
  • We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • We may share your personal data with third parties for the purpose of providing our services. This includes, but is not limited to, our payment processor, hosting provider, and email service provider.
  • Uploaded content is scanned for CSAM (child sexual abuse material) and other illegal content. We may share this content with law enforcement agencies if we have reason to believe that it contains illegal material.

More about the moderation

  • All the submitted content is moderated by our service.
  • The moderation is done by our machine learning algorithms. We do not employ human moderators.
  • We aim to execute all the moderation activities within one second which is our SLA. Most of the content gets full result within 150ms.
  • Result of the moderation is returned to the user in the form of a JSON object as a probability of the content being assigned to a specific category.
  • The probability, as well as the category, is calculated based on the content of the text or the image.
  • Once again - it’s probability, not a fact. We do not guarantee that the content is assigned to the correct category so it should be treated as ‘strongly opinionated suggestion’.
  • Although we do our best to provide the best possible service, we do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times, which covers for example temporary outages, deployments, network issues, natural disasters or any issues related to the lack of coffee or energy drinks.

User Accounts

  • Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account on discuse.com.
  • User accounts are managed via third party - Auth0. We do not store user passwords. Users can reset their passwords via Auth0.
  • Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts. We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this security obligation.
  • Users are responsible for all content posted and activity that occurs under their account.
  • Users must not use our website for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. Users must not, in the use of the service, violate any laws in their jurisdiction.

Users of our users

  • Users of our users are the ones who are moderated.
  • We may provide user identifier / request identifier to law enforcement in case of detection of illegal content, together with the contact to the person responsible for the account.

Subscriptions and Billing

  • We offer a subscription-based service. Users can subscribe to our services via our website.
  • We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store credit card or other payment information on our servers.
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Users can choose their preferred billing period.
  • Subscriptions are billed in advance. Users are billed on the same day each month or year, depending on their chosen billing period.
  • Users can cancel their subscription at any time. The cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Users are entitled to a refund if they have used less than 1000 units within the current billing month. Requests for refunds must be made in accordance with our Refund Policy procedures.
  • We reserve the right to modify our pricing at any time although the existing subscriptions may stay at the same price.
  • Usage based payments are billed upon reaching the thresholds which will be defined individually after first month or 10000 units, whichever comes first.

Use of Uploaded Content

  • By uploading texts and photos to discuse.com, you grant us the right to use this content for machine learning and service improvement purposes.
  • Before using uploaded content for machine learning purposes, we anonymise it. This means that we remove all personal information from the content, including but not limited to names, email addresses, and phone numbers.
  • We may share uploaded content with third parties for the purpose of providing our services. This includes, but is not limited to, our hosting provider, email service provider, and wherever we run the machine learning.
  • Uploaded content may be stored, analyzed, and utilized to enhance our algorithms and overall service quality.
  • There’s no guarantee that the uploaded content will be deleted from our servers after the user deletes it from their account, because if content becomes parta of the anonymised dataset - we simply won’t be able to find it.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

  • We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Your continued use of the website after such changes indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
  • We will notify users of any changes to these Terms and Conditions via email and/or by posting a notice on our website.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by British law. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of United Kingdom.
